The following information is very important for treatment, read through the entire content.

MUST READ Before surgery:  

 

IN THE DAYS BEFORE THE INTERVENTION:

  1. Remember not to take any medication without consulting Dr. VICTOR Urzola [including those used for pain or colds and bearing ASPIRIN (acetylsalicylic acid or derivatives).] If you take aspirin 15 days prior to your procedure we will have to cancel the surgery, since aspirin will thin your blood and increase the risk of bleeding. 
  1. Notify any change of health (colds, infections, diarrhea).
  1. Let us know if you are taking or have taken any medication to regulate blood pressure, blood clotting, heart conditions, to treat diabetes, rheumatism, nervousness, depression, mental illness, birth control pills, tea, herbs, vitamin supplements or drugs.
  1. The results of the preoperative evaluation must have been previously reviewed by Dr. Victor Urzola to confirm that your health allows you to undergo surgery.
  1. Do not smoke for 1 month prior to the intervention and for 1 month after the procedure at least.
  1. Do NOT TAKE ANY ASPIRIN OR ANTI INFLAMMATORY DRUGS AT LEAST 15 days PRIOR THE SURGERY.
  2. Do not drink alcoholic beverages 1 week before your surgery.

THE DAY PRIOR TO INCOME:

  1. Eat light and do not drink alcoholic beverages.
  2. Extreme hygiene helps to prevent postoperative infections.
  3. Do not take anything by mouth, food or liquids (Total Fasting ) 8 hours before the time of your surgery. For example: if your surgery is scheduled at 8:00 am you shouldn’t drink or eat anything after midnight. If you need you take any prescribed medication allowed by Dr. Urzola in the morning of the surgery, do so with the smallest amount of water possible. 
  4. If you have any questions don’t hesitate to contact our personnel by email or by phone.

THE DAY OF ENTRY:

  1. You must go to Admissions as instructed by our personnel no less than 1.5 hours prior to the time of surgery.
  1. In Admissions, all documents previously sent to your email by our staff must be completed and signed before the time of surgery. These documents must be read and understood before singing them, so we recommend you allocate enough time to read and ask any questions if you consider it pertinent. 
  1. Upon entering the clinic, you must make a deposit, cash, credit or debit card, according to hospital policies.
  1. Dress with comfortable and functional clothing, don’t wear any makeup, jewelry, and remove all nail polish. If you are having breast surgery make sure to wash your hair the days before the surgery, since you won’t be able to lift your arms for several days. 

If you require to be HOSPITALIZED:

  1. In your room:
  • You must wear the gown that will be provided, without underwear, and should remove all metal objects (watches, rings, earrings, bracelets, piercings etc).  If you have oral prosthesis they will have to be removed for the surgery.
  • It is recommended not to bring valuables.
  • If a woman, you must also remove the face makeup and nail polish.
  • Dr. Victor Urzola will see you before the surgery for any last minute questions or clarifications and to perform the pre-op markings.
